Team Norwich Mind!

As Run Norwich draws closer (yes only 25 days away!) everyone here at Norwich & Central Norfolk Mind we would like to thank all of our Team Norwich runners for supporting us and to each and every one of you that has offered to run, help out on the day or has spread the word about this fabulous event.  As a charity this has been a wonderful opportunity for us to partner with Run Norwich and be a part of something so special in Norwich alongside The Big C, CSF and Serv Norfolk.

On race day we will be having a cheering station next to the Savills building on Agricultural Hall Plain and we would like to invite anyone who is supporting one of our runners to join us and anyone else who would like to come along and make some noise for our awesome runners!

It has been very moving to read some of our runners stories about why they chose us as their charity and we promise to continue our great work, everyone’s efforts not only helps us fund important projects in this area to help support people with mental health issues, it also raises awareness of our organisation so that people know there is help available and do not have to suffer alone and feel isolated.

Pete Cropley will be running for us on the day and also features in the race magazine, Pete is very passionate about Norwich Mind –  “I have been connected with Norwich Mind for quite some time now. Running for a charity so close to my heart is a huge motivation for me. I owe this charity a lot and raising funds to support its work is a small repayment.  I regularly speak to people who confirm my own experience of being afraid to speak about mental health for fear of receiving an ignorant or damaging response. The tide is slowly turning and conversations are now taking place but there is a long way to go. I look forward to the day when no stigma exists around mental health and by supporting Norwich Mind I believe we can bring this day closer.  Events like Run Norwich get people talking about mental health. I am very proud to be a part of this.”
