On the 31st August Sarah Ingram and 3 friends will be attempting to climb Mount Snowdon. We have all been friends for 20 years and it seemed perfect to celebrate this by raising money for Norwich Mind as we all know talking through your troubles can be good for your Wellbeing. 04/06/13 - Lloyds TSB staff help refresh Mind rehabilitation houses in Norwich
On Sunday 2nd June the facilities of two mental health rehabilitation houses provided by Norwich Mind were given a new lease of life thanks to the staff at Lloyds TSB. 21/02/13 - Norwich Mind wins national MHFA awards
Norwich Mind was recognised at the recent Mental Health First Aid England awards held at the House of Lords, Several of our staff (Simon Barker, Sandra Flanagan and Robert Black) received Bronze awards and we were nominated for the MHFA Champion award.
31/10/12 - TIGER FC shortlisted for The Forum Community Club of the Year Award!
Tiger Football Club's strap-line "We play to win" was once again demonstrated today when the great news of the short listing was announced on Radio Norfolk yesterday. The community Club Award 2012 is for a club or team that has made great progress over time, has achieved a great deal and made a big difference to a community. Club secretary, Godfrey Beya said "The growth, learning opportunities, sense of belonging and sharing, identity and contribution we make has vastly improved our mental health & Wellbeing." 24/10/12 - Norwich in Bloom Winner
Norwich Mind have been awarded in several categories in the 2012 Norwich in Bloom competition. We won the best floral garden and picked up several other runner up prizes in other categories. The award is a great recognition of the hard work of the horticulture volunteers who have transformed our head office site over the past few years.

Norwich Mind are the proud sponsors of Tiger Football Club. The club has been formed with the support of our Social Inclusion services and is made up of players who have arrived in Norfolk as refugees and asylum seekers. 10/05/12 - CDW Team wins National Portuguese Award!
The Portuguese newspaper As Noticias hosted the fourth Portuguese Gala dinner on the 27th April 2012 in London. Norwich and Central Norfolk Mind, Community Development Programme were one of the recipients of an award for our work with the Portuguese community in Central Norfolk. The service has worked closely with the community in Thetford, delivered Mental Health Awareness training sessions (in Portuguese) to help reduce the stigma attached to mental ill health, Well-being talks and in general helped the community achieve their goals in improving the mental well being of their community members.
02/02/12 - MHFA Champion Award
Norwich Mind Deputy CEO Sandra Flanagan joined other award winners at the House of Lords to receive a Mental Health First Aid Champion Award. This award recognises our effort in training hundreds of people to assist others experiencing a mental health issue.

14/12/11 - Carers Rights Day
The theme for this year's Carers Rights Day was “MoneyMatters” and an event was held at the Carers Forum to provide information, advice and support for carers facing difficult financial situations. The event was attended by Moira Goodey, Manager Carer Support and Simon Wright MP Norwich South also came along to offer support. Many carers across central Norfolk struggle with the additional costs that caring can bring and Carers UK figures show that over 47% of carers experience mental health problems of their own.
13/12/11 - Norwich Mind Wins MHFA Award!
Every year, MHFA England CIC holds an awards event to celebrate the amazing things that have been achieved by the instructors and organisations. Norwich Mind has been awarded an MHFA Champion Award in recognition of it's commitment to increasing mental health literacy, incorporating the MHFA in our volunteer training and delivering training comprehensively and making it accessible to all sectors.

22/06/11 - Carers Week 2011
Our Carer Support Service were out and about during Carers Week. The theme for Carers Week this year was “The True Face of Carers” and Norwich & Central Norfolk Mind Carer Support Service were out displaying their information stand and raising the profile of unpaid mental health carers. Events were held in Norwich, Dereham and Watton. Chloe Smith Norwich North MP, attended and stated “It was a successful event which showed the need for carers to get together. Caring can be isolating and demanding, so I hope a simple effort like this in the community can really help a little. Good information about services or shared experiences is vital to carers and to those they give their time for.”

Norwich and Central Norfolk Mind have recently launched a Client Feedback and Influence Card that enables people in contact with our organisation to get involved, influence our work and feedback on their experience. Mental health in the workplace is the elephant in the room. It exists but too often it is ignored, but we think some problems are too big to ignore. 06/05/11 - Africa Day a Huge Success!
Norwich Mind's Inclusion Service recently held an Africa Day. The event was very well attended and people were able to sample the rich culture and history of Africa through food, dance, storytelling, crafts and music. Our thanks go to the many volunteers, performers, agencies and visitors who made it such a fun day.
