GETTING INVOLVED
We welcome the involvement of people with personal experience of mental ill - health. We believe that we can be a better organisation by listening to and being influenced by people who have expertise that arises from their own experience. This could be as a result of living with, or recovering from, a mental health problem or caring for someone with this experience.
There are many ways to be involved and to influence our development and work. Our approach to involvement is to ensure that opportunities are extended to everyone regardless of a person's diagnosis, how long they have used mental health services, what type of services (if any) people have used and whether people have used our services or not. This approach is explained further in our Service User Involvement Policy which you can download or ask for a copy of.
Some of the ways to get involved are:
-
Participate in client or carer feedback, either written or face to face
-
Complete a Feedback and Influence Card - these are available at all our sites and you should be offered this to complete. If this has not happened, please do not hesitate to ask for one. You can download the form on this page but you cannot use the freepost option unless you collect an original form.
-
Join a local Client Influence Group (CIG). Each of our programmes offers a group that you can join. Just speak to the person delivering your care for more information
-
Become a volunteer and help us help others
-
Become a Trustee (this is subject to an assessment of Board requirements). Please get in touch with our CEO to find out more about this
However you choose to get involved, we will find a way to ensure that your views are heard, that your views can influence what we do, and that your energy, wisdom and commitment benefits others
