Lower Cost Counselling

Norwich Mind’s low cost counselling service offers a variety of counselling to members of the public aged 18+ and these include CBT, person centred and integrative approaches.

Most of our counselling is offered by counsellors in training, most are qualified. If a counsellor is in training then we ensure they are on an approved training course at diploma level or above.

An initial assessment session with the service manager is completed before you go on to a waiting list.

We have two locations where the service is provided:

50 Sale Road, Norwich, NR7 9TP and The Annex, Holland Court in the grounds of Norwich Cathedral off Tombland.

NEW OPPORTUNITY: Were you a boarder? Was it a difficult experience? Would you appreciate some time with a qualified counsellor to explore your experience? This is only available on a Wednesday at 6pm at the Sale Road building.

The person who responds first will get the slot and this information will be removed.

For individuals who would like to speak to a qualified counsellor training in psycho-sexual and relationship therapy. It may be particularly useful for you if you are having experiencing difficulties with you sexual and/or relational health where intimacy becomes a barrier.

CBT appointments available. Tuesday afternoon only.

Waiting Times: Dependant on location but rising rapidly from 12 weeks to 20 weeks from the completion of your assessment appointment.

Appointments are available at Sale Road from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with an evening service on a Monday and Wednesday until 8pm.

The Annex has appointments from 9am to 6pm at the city location with an evening service on a Thursday until 7pm.

To book an initial assessment appointment please telephone our head office 01603 432 457 and ask to be referred to the counselling service.  The service manager will then arrange a time to meet with you to assess your needs and match you with an appropriate counsellor.

The current fees are £10 for an initial assessment and £20 per counselling session thereafter.  Individuals on a low income and/or struggling financially may be eligible for a reduced fee.

Please be aware that the Wellbeing service offers short term counselling, social groups, wellbeing courses and more for free. Check out their information on the tab to the left.
